Enriching Bank Customer Satisfaction with Digital Signage Application

Digital Signage applications are not only used in consumer home advertisements, but are also popular for dissemination of information in service industries. Jih Sun International Bank has over 40 branch offices in Taiwan. At the branch it’s not uncommon to see people waiting in line with little to do. In order to reduce perceived wait times and raise customer satisfaction, Jih Sun International bank decided to install digital signage systems in each bank’s lobby, waiting area, and service counterbooths, with each display showing live information and entertainment. In addition, Jih Sun International Bank also had plans to promote bank products to customers through its digital signage system.
Advantech provided Jih Sun a dedicated banking digital signage solution composed of three functions: a customer number and teller window information board for customers waiting in line, an exchange rate sign board with live data feeds, and a TV screen with advertisements. To meet Jih Sun’s space requirements and need to integrate data from various media sources, the system integrator chose Advantech’s DSA-3300 compact Window-based digital signage system. The solution provided a three-zone image showing customer wait status, current exchange rates, and stock market andfinancial product promotional videos. Since the DSA-3300 is embedded with a TV-tuner card, it was easy to receive stock market information from live television broadcasts. The DSA-3300, integrated with a customer number machine through Jih Sun’s LAN, shows waiting status using a ticker format. Replacing a traditional LED exchange rate sign, the system also shows live bank exchange rates by syncing data from the bank’s internal financial database system with the DSA-3300. Through a central management system, Jih Sun’s headquarters can easily manage all branch bank digital signage play content.
